Mocha was born on March 28, 2002. She is the daughter of Happy Eclipsing Shadow and CoCoMo's
Chocolate Chip. Her registered name is Happy Shadow's Mochaccino.
When Mocha was seven months
old, she was hit by a car and broke both bones in her lower right leg. A wonderful surgeon operated on her at the Veterinary Referral Center in Frasier, PA. This accident does not affect her at all.
In March 2005, Mocha delivered a litter of 11 puppies. She had 5 chocolate females, 5 chocolate males, and
1 yellow male. A little more than a week after delivering the litter, Mocha developed mastitis and was not able to feed
the puppies. Feeding the puppies was not an easy task and friends and families helped as much as they could. My
mother even took a bus to Buffalo from Pennsylvania to help me care for the puppies. In May 2005, Mocha was spayed.
Mocha seemed to have a natural jumping ability. People used to joke that during the surgery to repair
her broken leg, the surgeon used springs instead of screws.
In the summer of 2005, Mocha started
competing in Big Air competitions with DockDogs. At first, she was afraid of the pool and/or the crowd.
Finally, after being patient and working with her, she has started jumping in competition like she does in practice.
She continues to get better at each competition.
She now has a DockDogs pool personal best of 20'5",
a DockDogs club lake personal best of 23', an Ultimate Air Dogs pool personal best of 21'10", Ultimate Air Dogs
short pool/dock personal best of 17'1", and a Wonder Dogs pond personal best of 20'8". She also started
competing in Extreme Vertical. She has a DockDogs personal best catch of 5"2" and an UltimateAirDogs personal
best of 5'6". She recently competed in Speed Retrieve at a DockDogs regional event and had a personal best
time of 7.19 seconds.
Mocha currently has a Senior Title nationally and a Master Title regionally with DockDogs.
She has one master jump nationally. Mocha is also Master Titled with Ultimate AirDogs. In addition to Big
Air, Mocha started off the 2007 Season by competing in a new game titled "Catch It!" She is the first dog
to have won a game of Catch It! and held the world record for 8 weeks. For a list of the competitions that Mocha has
done, please visit her results page.

In addition to Big Air, Mocha is training to compete in Flyball and Agility. I never thought Mocha
would enjoy agility, but she seems to be a natural. Team CoffeeDogs attended a canine birthday party where the dogs
were able to try flyball and agility. Mocha became addicted that night.
Mocha is just an all-around
great dog. She is a companion and can always tell when I am not feeling well. I did not pick her, she chose me.
She was the largest female, and I wanted a small dog. When she was a few days old, she started sucking on my fingers.
She would not do that to anyone else. The bond was formed, and has not been broken.
